Winter is coming … with a blizzard of live and virtual SANS Institute events

Paid Post As security pros survey the months ahead, they may be resigning themselves to long winter nights or hot summer days spent fighting off cyber-attackers exploiting the end-of-year lull, or final rush of custom, depending on the business involved.

But here’s a little light at the end of the tunnel: a slew of new online and in-person events from SANS Institute that will help you sharpen up your cybersec skills or learn completely new ones.

Best of all, right now they all come with early bird offers, or are even completely, utterly free.

So, what could you be putting on your calendar?

SANS Threat Hunting London 2022 runs from January 10 to 15, both in-person in London, and online, with seven courses from Advanced Incident Response, Threat Hunting, and Digital Forensics, to in-depth programs such as Purple Team Tactics – Adversary Emulation for Breach Prevention and Detection.

The same week, SANS Live Online Europe January 2022 Volume 1 will run virtually, with six courses, from Windows Forensics Analysis to Building and Leading Security Operations Centers.

The following week, SANS Tokyo January 2022 offers a five-strong lineup of virtual courses, with Hacker Tools, Techniques Exploits, and Incident Handling being delivered in Japanese, courtesy of Shintaro Watanabe.

From January 24, SANS Amsterdam January 2022 offers in-person training, with seven courses ranging from Cloud Security Essentials to Advanced Penetration Testing, Exploit Writing and Ethical Hacking.

The following week, Paris gets the SANS treatment, with eight courses, including Smartphone Forensic Analysis In-Depth and Advanced Network Forensics: Threat Hunting, Analysis and Incident Response.

In parallel, South by South East Asia February 2022 has a five-strong lineup of courses, including Hacker Tools, Techniques, and Incident Handling, and Defeating Advanced Adversaries – Purple Team Tactics & Kill Chain Defenses.

All of these events are currently available on early bird pricing, saving you hundreds of dollars on fees on these in-depth courses. But if you want to take a higher-level view – and not spend anything at all – check out SANS’ Cyber Threat Intelligence Summit, which offers two days of highly technical summit talks, running January 27 and 28, as well as interactive workshops, sessions, and panels. Virtual attendees can register for free.

Let’s face it, it’s going to be a busy couple of months. But a bit of planning now means you can ensure you’re ready for spring – or autumn – with an improved skill set, and save money, too. So why not head to the SANS site now, book your place, and…roll on 2022.
