It takes intuition and skill to find hidden evidence and hunt for elusive threats

Promo Whether it’s hunting for threats, tracking down security breaches, or gathering evidence, intuition helps though a thorough grounding in the latest techniques and tools for the platform in question is essential.

This is precisely what you’ll get at SANS DFIR Europe 2021, which takes place in Berlin between October 4 and 9, 2021 – and right now, the plan is that all courses will be conducted in person.

The nine strong course line-up takes you right from the fundamentals of DFIR, through to specialist and advanced courses, all with highly experienced instructors.

For example, you can choose from Digital Forensics Essentials, with Kathryn Headley, co-author of the Digital Forensics Essentials Course, and director and digital forensic specialist at Khyrenz Ltd. Or you can get deep into specialist areas, such as Mac and iOS forensic Analyst and Incident Response, which will be delivered by course author Sarah Edwards, a pioneer in Mac forensics since 2004, who has worked with federal law enforcement agencies on high profile investigations.

And there are advanced courses, including Advanced Incident Response, Threat Hunting and Digital Forensics, with SANS fellow, curriculum director and faculty lead, Rob Lee, a founding member of the USAAF’s 609th Information Warfare Squadron.

Or you can train against the clock with Battlefield Forensics and Data Acquisition, with course author Kevin Ripa, who will take you through the multiplicity of methods needed to gather data for investigations, to produce actionable intelligence, within 90 minutes of less.

As well as the finest instructors, all the courses will feature hands-on labs in a virtual environment, while you’ll also walk away with a full set of course materials in both electronic and printed forms.

For those not able to make it to Berlin, SANS is also running SANS DFIR Europe Online 2021. With three industry leading courses on offer including the brand new FOR509 Enterprise Cloud Forensics and Incident Response, the Live Online event is set to be very popular.

At both events you’ll get the chance to flex those new forensics muscles with one of SANS’ legendary Netwars tournaments. These highly practical cyber ranges are designed to practically test your skills with a range of hands on challenges in a cutting edge, real world-like environment.

And with most of the courses eligible for GIAC certification, you’ll also have the opportunity to prove your skills to whoever needs to know. Book by August 25, and you’ll also qualify for an early bird discount. So, if forensics are on your agenda, head this way, secure your spot, and get ready to learn from the best.
