The feature sends a notification when a registered device is separated from your phone, except when you leave it at your house. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Also: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/change-samsung-phone-settings-improve-battery-life\/\">7 Galaxy settings I always change to boost my battery life<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2026\/11\/05\/google-find-hub-tracker-alerts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to 9to5Google<\/a>, this feature was first previewed in October, with the notification available for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/chipolo-loop-finder-tag-review\/\">Chipolo trackers<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/motorolas-new-29-airtag-alternative-has-a-hidden-button-feature-that-photographers-will-love\/\">Moto Tag<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-ziff-davis-exco-video is-injected\" id=\"exco-video-block-6a8e06fe4d2cfb09fd68fb54-1427136-4\" data-exco-video-id data-exco-playlist-id=\"6a8e06fe4d2cfb09fd68fb54\" data-exco-video-title data-exco-video-src data-exco-video-duration=\"0\" data-exco-video-poster data-exco-suppress-ads=\"0\" data-exco-autoplay=\"0\" data-exco-sticky=\"1\">\n<p class=\"exco-video__eyebrow\">More from ZDNET<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Notify\u2019 finally comes to Android<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cNotify when left behind\u201d is my all-time favorite device tracking feature on iOS. Any device set up on my Find My network is compatible with this feature, including my MacBook Air, AirPods Pro 3, and Apple Watch, three devices I often take out of the house \u2014 and have indeed left behind once or twice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/google-pixel-tag-ultra-wideband-bluetooth-channel-sounding\/\">Google\u2019s Pixel Tag tracker has a big advantage over AirTags<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If these devices are separated from my phone in an unsaved location, I\u2019ll get a notification of which device I left and where. In iOS, you can customize which locations are \u201csafe,\u201d and won\u2019t notify you if you leave them there.<\/p>\n<p>On Android, this feature is currently limited to only notifying you when a device is left at a location other than the home address registered to your Google account. Hopefully, location customization is on the horizon.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to enable the feature<\/h2>\n<p>Right now, this feature appears to be limited to specific Bluetooth trackers. Photos shared by 9to5Google show compatible trackers have a \u201cNotify when left behind\u201d tab at the bottom of their menu in the Find Hub, so it\u2019s expected that future supported devices will operate the same way.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2026\/10\/05\/google-find-hub-tags-nfc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">9to5Google reports<\/a> that previous updates to Google Play Services indicated this feature\u2019s existence. According to 9to5Google, \u201cNotify when left behind\u201d should be a feature that users can enable when registering a new device with their Find Hub.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/tech\/apple-maps-vs-google-maps-tasks\/\">I\u2019m an Apple Maps fan, but I switch to Google Maps for these 3 tasks<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once Google matures and fully rolls out this feature, there should be a setting inside the Find Hub to enable these notifications on every device in your hub.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Android\u2019s advantage over Apple<\/h2>\n<p>Android\u2019s breadth of compatibility with third-party manufacturers is its most significant advantage over Apple. Regarding device tracking, you can add Sony headphones, Motorola trackers, and Samsung Galaxy smartwatches to the same Find Hub.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/home-and-office\/android-apple-bluetooth-le-audio-channel-sounding\/\">Apple has a Bluetooth problem, and Android is taking advantage<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, my Beats headphones that appear in my Find My hub are not currently supported by this new feature.
