That may be changing soon.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Change is still in the works<\/h2>\n<p>X (formerly Twitter) user, Leopeva64, posted a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Leopeva64\/status\/2114055564607070601\">short video<\/a> and several still images showcasing a potential new feature in&nbsp;Chrome Canary, which Google uses to test new Chrome web tools and features. The posts show the search bar pinned to the top of the settings menu for instant access. By entering the name of the submenu or feature you want to access, the new search bar could save a lot of time normally spent clicking around, trying to remember exactly where it\u2019s located.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-ziff-davis-exco-video is-injected\" id=\"exco-video-block-6a8f5bcfed71f801c6e0861e-1424433-4\" data-exco-video-id data-exco-playlist-id=\"6a8f5bcfed71f801c6e0861e\" data-exco-video-title data-exco-video-src data-exco-video-duration=\"0\" data-exco-video-poster data-exco-suppress-ads=\"0\" data-exco-autoplay=\"0\" data-exco-sticky=\"1\">\n<p class=\"exco-video__eyebrow\">More from ZDNET<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">In Chrome Canary, Google is testing removing the scroll arrows that let you automatically scroll to reveal hidden items when you hover over them in the 3-dot menu. They also added a scrollbar, and the search box at the top and the footer are now pinned so they are always visible: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Plx6BgKfJN\">https:\/\/t.co\/Plx6BgKfJN<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/D7TxDkCtmP\">pic.twitter.com\/D7TxDkCtmP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Leopeva64 (@Leopeva64) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Leopeva64\/status\/2114055564607070601?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 24, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>According to Leopeva64, other possible new features include a visual update that groups similar menu options into tiles for faster navigation of your most-accessed settings, as well as pinning the menu footer to keep it visible as you click through.<\/p>\n<p>Chrome Extensions is also up for a possible refresh with a move to a dedicated submenu called Manage Skills to help keep all of your installed extensions organized and make it easier to remove ones that are no longer needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/how-to-take-a-full-page-screenshot-in-google-chrome-browser\/\">How to take full-page screenshots in Chrome on any device \u2013 it\u2019s easy and free<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Google Lens may get a new submenu, called \u201cAsk Google about this page,\u201d for searching for items you see across an entire page, not just in a single image.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no official word yet on when these features will leave Canary\u2019s testing environment and become available in the regular Chrome menu.
