The hackers reportedly made off with the company\u2019s loyalty program database, which contains a list of driver\u2019s license numbers and Social Security numbers for a \u201csignificant number of members\u201d within the database. <\/p>\n<div class=\"sc-17kx9cd-5 kDVAgq js_ad-mobile-dynamic js_ad-dynamic ad-mobile-dynamic\">\n<div class=\"sc-17kx9cd-4 bNalOf ad-unit ad-mobile\">\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 fnnahv\">\u201cWe have taken steps to ensure that the stolen data is deleted by the unauthorized actor, although we cannot guarantee this result,\u201d the company wrote in the SEC filing. \u201cWe are monitoring the web and have not seen any evidence that the data has been further shared, published, or otherwise misused. Nonetheless, out of an abundance of caution, we are offering credit monitoring and identity theft protection services to all members of our loyalty program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 fnnahv\">Caesars Entertainment did not immediately return Gizmodo\u2019s request for comment. Cybersecurity company Trellix <span><a class=\"sc-1out364-0 dPMosf sc-145m8ut-0 jCErAQ js_link\" data-ga=\"[[&quot;Embedded Url&quot;,&quot;External link&quot;,&quot;https:\/\/www.trellix.com\/en-us\/about\/newsroom\/stories\/research\/scattered-spider-the-modus-operandi.html&quot;,{&quot;metric25&quot;:1}]]\" href=\"https:\/\/www.trellix.com\/en-us\/about\/newsroom\/stories\/research\/scattered-spider-the-modus-operandi.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">says<\/a><\/span> in a blog post that Scattered Spider has been active since May 2022, and its prey of choice is telecommunications companies, critical infrastructure groups, and business process outsourcing organizations\u2014like the IT company involved with Caesars. Trellix also says that social engineering hacks are Scattered Spider\u2019s bread and butter. <\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-77igqf-0 fnnahv\">The SEC filing chronicling the attack comes after Caesars competitor MGM was also hit with a crippling attack<!-- -->, as revealed this past Monday. <span><a class=\"sc-1out364-0 dPMosf sc-145m8ut-0 jCErAQ js_link\" data-ga=\"[[&quot;Embedded Url&quot;,&quot;Internal link&quot;,&quot;https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/mgm-grand-cyberattack-caused-by-10-minute-phone-call-1850834558&quot;,{&quot;metric25&quot;:1}]]\" href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/mgm-grand-cyberattack-caused-by-10-minute-phone-call-1850834558\">The MGM hack was reportedly the result<!-- --> of<!-- --> a 10-minute<!-- --> social engineering <!-- -->phone call<\/a><\/span>, in which the hackers identified an IT worker on LinkedIn and called the help desk.
