{"id":51698,"date":"2023-04-25T15:31:32","date_gmt":"2023-04-25T15:31:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/packetstormsecurity.com\/news\/view\/34546\/Google-Adds-Generative-AI-To-Its-Cloud-Security-Offerings.html"},"modified":"2023-04-25T15:31:32","modified_gmt":"2023-04-25T15:31:32","slug":"google-adds-generative-ai-to-its-cloud-security-offerings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.threatshub.org\/blog\/google-adds-generative-ai-to-its-cloud-security-offerings\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Adds Generative AI To Its Cloud Security Offerings"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/files.scmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/0425_google_cloud.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>Looking to harness the power of AI for security, Google on Monday announced the Google Cloud Security AI Workbench, a new platform based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/cloud.google.com\/blog\/products\/identity-security\/rsa-google-cloud-security-ai-workbench-generative-ai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sec-PaLM<\/a> large language model (LLM).<\/p>\n<p>Google said the new security model has been fine-tuned for security use cases, incorporating Google\u2019s visibility into the threat landscape and Mandiant\u2019s intelligence on vulnerabilities, malware, threat indicators, and behavioral threat actor profiles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith our AI advances, we can now combine world class threat intelligence with point-in-time incident analysis and novel AI-based detections and analytics to help prevent new infections,\u201d said Sunil Potti, vice president and general manager of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scmagazine.com\/analysis\/cloud-security\/google-unveils-suite-of-combined-offerings-as-it-makes-major-play-for-cloud-security-market\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Cloud Security<\/a>. \u201cThese advances are critical to help counter a potential surge in adversarial attacks that use machine learning and generative AI systems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The AI Workbench product will compete with <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmagazine.com\/news\/emerging-technology\/microsoft-expands-incident-response-retainer-service-unveils-ai-driven-security-product\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft<\/a> Security Copilot, which is based on GPT-4 and announced a month ago. Google announced that <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cloud.google.com\/blog\/products\/identity-security\/rsa-accelerating-cybersecurity-resilience-accenture-google-cloud-partnership\" target=\"_blank\">Accenture<\/a> will be the first partner to use AI Workbench.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scmagazine.com\/topic\/rsac\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click here for all of SC Media&#8217;s coverage from the RSA Conference 2023<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of AI Workbench, Google said one of the tools was VirusTotal Code Insight, which uses the Sec-PaLM LLM to analyze and explain the behavior of potentially malicious scripts, and promises to better detect which scripts are actually threats.<\/p>\n<p>Google also plans to leverage Google Cloud and Mandiant Threat Intelligence to deliver Mandiant Breach Analytics for Chronicle. The tool promises to automatically alert security teams to active breaches in the enterprise\u2019s environment. It will use Sec-PaLM to help contexualize and respond instantly to the findings from the threat intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Mandiant Threat Intelligence AI, built on top of Mandiant\u2019s massive threat graph, will also leverage Sec-PaLM to quickly find, summarize, and act on threat relevant each specific organization.<\/p>\n<p>READ MORE <a
