The crooks bilked them out of more than 160 million hryvnias, or $4.36 million.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian police also released a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=D3ZSM6FmNCU&amp;feature=youtu.be\">video<\/a> that shows the officers busting down doors to a suspect&#8217;s home and an empty call center.<\/p>\n<div aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"adun\" data-pos=\"top\" data-raptor=\"falcon\" data-xsm=\",fluid,mpu,\" data-sm=\",fluid,mpu,\" data-md=\",fluid,mpu,\"> <noscript> <a href=\"https:\/\/pubads.g.doubleclick.net\/gampad\/jump?co=1&amp;iu=\/6978\/reg_security\/cybercrime&amp;sz=300x50%7C300x100%7C300x250%7C300x251%7C300x252%7C300x600%7C300x601&amp;tile=4&amp;c=44ZCg75UQKb7PDnX3EpEV@@gAAAAs&amp;t=ct%3Dns%26unitnum%3D4%26raptor%3Dfalcon%26pos%3Dmid%26test%3D0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pubads.g.doubleclick.net\/gampad\/ad?co=1&amp;iu=\/6978\/reg_security\/cybercrime&amp;sz=300x50%7C300x100%7C300x250%7C300x251%7C300x252%7C300x600%7C300x601&amp;tile=4&amp;c=44ZCg75UQKb7PDnX3EpEV@@gAAAAs&amp;t=ct%3Dns%26unitnum%3D426raptor%3Dfalcon%26pos%3Dmid%26test%3D0\" alt> <\/a> <\/noscript> <\/div>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=D3ZSM6FmNCU\" data-media=\"x-videoplayer\">Youtube Video<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>In total, the law enforcement teams conducted about 30 searches of suspects&#8217; homes and cars, as well as the two call centers, and they seized mobile phones, SIM cards, and computer equipment used in illegal activities.<\/p>\n<p>The two alleged organizers of the crime gang have been charged with fraud and creating a criminal organization, and they face up to 12 years in prison. Ten other alleged gang members have been detained by the European Union, and the international law enforcement agencies say the investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukraine arrests follow another European call center scam that Europol announced in January.&nbsp;In this case, European cops <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2023\/01\/13\/europol_crypto_investment_arrests\/\" rel=\"noopener\">arrested 15 suspected fraudsters<\/a> and shut down a multi-country network of call centers selling fake cryptocurrency that law enforcement alleged stole upwards of hundreds of million euros from victims. \u00ae<\/p>\n<p> READ MORE <a
