Denmark have been attacked for burning the Quran, and more will be attacked in the coming hours,&#8221; the group <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/AnonymousSudan\/212\">wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In January, Rasmus Paludan \u2013 a far-right Swedish-Danish politician and <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cphpost.dk\/2021-09-03\/news\/high-court-finds-rasmus-paludan-guilty-of-racism-but-mitigates-punishment\/\">convicted racist<\/a> \u2013 burned a Quran in front of a mosque in alt> <\/a> <\/noscript> <\/div>\n<p>Anonymous Sudan, as the name would suggest, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OpSudan\">claims<\/a> to be based in Sudan and affiliated with an earlier group of the same name that traces its roots to a 2019 military coup.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.truesec.com\/hub\/blog\/what-is-anonymous-sudan\">security researchers<\/a> say the 2023 hacktivists are likely Russian or located in former Soviet Union countries with <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2023\/02\/24\/russian_cybercrime_economy\/\" rel=\"noopener\">ties to Killnet<\/a> \u2013 another <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2022\/11\/08\/fbi_hacktivists_useless\/\" rel=\"noopener\">second-rate hacktivist crew<\/a> that sprang up as a pro-Russia DDoS gang during the Ukraine war.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Anonymous Sudan <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2023\/01\/30\/russian_hackers_ddos_germany\/\" rel=\"noopener\">took credit<\/a> for a series of DDoS attacks against the websites of the German foreign intelligence service and the Cabinet of Germany, in support of Killnet.<\/p>\n<p>Killnet, on its Russian-language Telegram channels, had urged fellow pro-Kremlin hackers to launch these traffic tsunamis against German infrastructure and government websites in response to the country&#8217;s plan to send tanks to Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>While Anonymous Sudan and others heeded the call, the attacks were <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/russian-hacktivists-briefly-knock-german-websites-offline-2023-01-25\/\">largely in vain<\/a>, according to Germany&#8217;s cyber security agency.<\/p>\n<div aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"adun\" id=\"story_eagle_xsm_sm_md_xmd_lg_xlg\" data-pos=\"mid\" data-raptor=\"eagle\" data-xsm=\",mpu,dmpu,\" data-sm=\",mpu,dmpu,\" service, according to Denmark news outlet <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thelocal.dk\/20230227\/danish-hospital-websites-targeted-in-cyber-attack\/\"><em>The Local<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Radio Sweden reported that a group of private Swedish cybersecurity firms <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/sverigesradio.se\/artikel\/61-servers-belonging-to-hacker-group-anonymous-sudan-shut-down\">took down 61 servers<\/a> belonging to Anonymous Sudan that were hosted in Germany on
