This includes producing talk-show format videos with real people discussing current events, and &#8220;high-quality&#8221; beauty advice and cooking tips.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As they evolve over time, Dragonbridge&#8217;s coordinated inauthentic activity may eventually attract the attention of real users,&#8221; Butler and Taege said. &#8220;For this reason, TAG and Mandiant track Dragonbridge closely and Google has taken an aggressive approach to identifying and removing their content.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"adun\" id=\"story_eagle_xsm_sm_md_xmd_lg_xlg\" data-pos=\"mid\" data-raptor=\"eagle\" data-xsm=\",mpu,dmpu,\" data-sm=\",mpu,dmpu,\" data-md=\",mpu,dmpu,\" data-xmd=\",mpu,dmpu,\" data-lg=\",mpu,dmpu,\" data-xlg=\",mpu,dmpu,\"> <noscript> <a href=\"https:\/\/pubads.g.doubleclick.net\/gampad\/jump?co=1&amp;iu=\/6978\/reg_security\/front&amp;sz=300x50%7C300x100%7C300x250%7C300x251%7C300x252%7C300x600%7C300x601&amp;tile=3&amp;c=33Y9U7kWUsHQFkVUy5N25plgAAANg&amp;t=ct%3Dns%26unitnum%3D3%26raptor%3Deagle%26pos%3Dmid%26test%3D0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pubads.g.doubleclick.net\/gampad\/ad?co=1&amp;iu=\/6978\/reg_security\/front&amp;sz=300x50%7C300x100%7C300x250%7C300x251%7C300x252%7C300x600%7C300x601&amp;tile=3&amp;c=33Y9U7kWUsHQFkVUy5N25plgAAANg&amp;t=ct%3Dns%26unitnum%3D3%26raptor%3Deagle%26pos%3Dmid%26test%3D0\" alt> <\/a> <\/noscript> <\/div>\n<p>While most of the posts are low-quality (blurry visuals and forgetting to remove place-holder text from a video are two examples TAG cites) and spammy (animals and landscapes), during 2022 Dragonbridge increased its pro-China messages and criticisms of the US.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the pro-China narratives that TAG removed praised Beijing&#8217;s response to COVID-19 and blasted pro-democracy protests.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The group also cranked out more fake content shortly after the announcement of a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2022\/08\/04\/taiwanese_military_reports_ddos_in\/\" rel=\"noopener\">possible visit to Taipei<\/a> by then-US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in late July, with a focus on Pelosi&#8217;s finances and family. That theme was &#8220;in line with usual Dragonbridge patterns of attempting to discredit US political leadership,&#8221; according to Butler and Taege.<\/p>\n<p>By August, however, during and after the Chinese People&#8217;s Liberation Army&#8217;s (PLA) military drills, the group shifted its focus away from Pelosi and toward pro-PLA propaganda and videos calling for Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-Wen to &#8220;surrender.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dragonbridge&#8217;s content creators also try to tap into US current events to paint the country in a negative light. &#8220;In 2022, Google removed Dragonbridge content on topics such as US Covid-19 response, racial inequality, political divisions, inflation, and other controversial topics,&#8221; Butler and Taege wrote.<\/p>\n<p>While Dragonbridge is the most prolific, it&#8217;s not the only information-operations group that TAG tracks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In its fourth-quarter bulletin published this week, the threat hunters reported that they <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/threat-analysis-group\/tag-bulletin-q4-2022\/\">also shut down<\/a> more than 1,600 YouTube channels, Blogger blogs and AdSense accounts linked to Russia, Iran, Brazil, Azerbaijan and other countries between October and December 2022. \u00ae<\/p>\n<p> READ MORE <a
