One of those compromised accounts was FanDuel, according to an email sent to users and made public by security researcher Graham Cluley, who identified the breached company as Mailchimp.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On Sunday evening, the vendor confirmed that FanDuel customer names and email addresses were acquired by an unauthorized actor,&#8221; the <a href=\"https:\/\/grahamcluley.com\/fanduel-gamblers-warned-of-phishing-threat-after-data-breach-at-mailchimp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FanDuel email<\/a> said. <\/p>\n<p>Cluley pointed out that although nothing more than emails and names were exposed, that&#8217;s plenty of information for threat actors to launch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darkreading.com\/application-security\/compromised-zendesk-employee-credentials-breach\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">future phishing attacks<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I would recommend that FanDuel customers be on their guard and \u2014 if they haven&#8217;t already done so \u2014 enable two-factor authentication on their FanDuel accounts,&#8221; Cluley wrote in his <a href=\"https:\/\/grahamcluley.com\/fanduel-gamblers-warned-of-phishing-threat-after-data-breach-at-mailchimp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blog post<\/a> about the FanDuel email to customers. &#8220;<span>It was kind of FanDuel, in its notification to affected customers, not to mention Mailchimp as the company.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"articleFooter-newsletterSignup\" readability=\"10.473404255319\">\n<p>Keep up with the latest cybersecurity threats, newly-discovered vulnerabilities, data breach information, and emerging trends.
