While 400 video sounds like a significant amount, the brevity of TikTok videos means this can be achieved in just two hours.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A user could feasibly download the app at breakfast and be fed overtly white supremacist and neo-Nazi content before lunch,&#8221; wrote Little and Richards.<\/p>\n<p>TikTok took to their <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.tiktok.com\/en-us\/how-tiktok-recommends-videos-for-you\">website<\/a> in 2020 to give some information on how it recommends videos but revealed very little about the company&#8217;s algorithm. It did say that recommendations are based on user interactions, video information like caption, sounds and hashtags, as well as device and account settings.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Register<\/em> asked ByteDance to comment. A statement TikTok has given <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2022\/mar\/02\/tiktok-us-launches-investigation-harms-young-people\" rel=\"noopener\">to several media outlets states<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>A <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.data.ai\/en\/insights\/market-data\/6-mobile-forecasts-to-help-you-succeed-in-2022\/\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> from app analytics platform data.ai last November predicted TikTok would surpass 1.5 billion active users in 2022. ByteDance total revenue <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/funds\/exclusive-tiktok-owner-bytedances-revenue-growth-slowed-70-2021-sources-2022-01-20\/\" rel=\"noopener\">grew<\/a> 70 per cent year-on-year to around $58bn in 2021. \u00ae<\/p>\n<p> READ MORE <a
