That means it&#8217;s still possible for an authenticated user to get admin-level privileges on a local or remote machine running the Windows print spooler service. Turning off the print spooler service on domain controllers and systems that do not print is the official <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/us-cert.cisa.gov\/ncas\/current-activity\/2021\/06\/30\/printnightmare-critical-windows-print-spooler-vulnerability\">guidance<\/a> from Uncle Sam. Microsoft says about the same, and to install patches, with more <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/msrc.microsoft.com\/update-guide\/vulnerability\/CVE-2021-34527\">info here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In short, disable the vulnerable the print spooler service on your Windows systems to prevent exploitation.<\/p>\n<p>This leaves networks with little choice. It may find itself having to push out a patch to patch the patch, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2021\/03\/16\/microsoft_printer_fix\/\" rel=\"noopener\">in true<\/a>
