The AFP have had three on the force since 2019 and yesterday <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fb.watch\/5AqtREiy98\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said on Facebook<\/a> they plan to add eight more over the next three years. They&#8217;ve been used to find everything from drugs to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/news\/2021-02-scent-dogs-individuals-infected-covid-.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">COVID patients<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dogs are able to detect electronic parts, like lithium batteries, circuit boards, screens and casings as they leak small quantities of chemicals into the air. They&#8217;ve been used in this capacity for over a decade, for instance to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/us\/blog\/canine-corner\/201112\/phone-sniffing-dogs-new-weapon-against-high-tech-crime\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">find contraband in United States prisons<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There is no word yet on whether they are available to find lost keys and phones around your house, although someone has already taken to <a target=\"_blank\"
