Hackers initially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/hacker-leaks-15-million-records-from-tokopedia-indonesias-largest-online-store\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">leaked 15 million user records<\/a> online, for free, but later put the company&#8217;s entire database of 91 million user records on sale for $5,000.<\/p>\n<p>Encouraged and emboldened by the profits from the Tokopedia sale, the same group has, over the course of the current week, listed the databases of 10 more companies.<\/p>\n<p>This includes user databases allegedly stolen from organizations such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Online dating app <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zoosk.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">Zoosk<\/a> (30 million user records)<\/li>\n<li>Printing service <a href=\"https:\/\/chatbooks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">Chatbooks<\/a> (15 million user records)<\/li>\n<li>South Korean fashion platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.styleshare.kr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">SocialShare<\/a> (6 million user records)<\/li>\n<li>Food delivery service <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homechef.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">Home Chef<\/a> (8 million user records)<\/li>\n<li>Online marketplace <a href=\"https:\/\/www.minted.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">Minted<\/a> (5 million user records)<\/li>\n<li>Online newspaper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronicle.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">Chronicle of Higher Education<\/a> (3 million user records)<\/li>\n<li>South Korean furniture magazine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ggumim.co.kr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">GGuMim<\/a> (2 million user records)<\/li>\n<li>Health magazine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindful.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">Mindful<\/a> (2 million user records)<\/li>\n<li>Indonesia online store <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bhinneka.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">Bhinneka<\/a> (1.2 million user records)<\/li>\n<li>US newspaper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">StarTribune<\/a> (1 million user records)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The listed databases total for 73.2 million user records, which the hacker is selling for around $18,000, with each database sold separately.<\/p>\n<p>The hacker group has shared samples from some of the stolen databases, which ZDNet has verified to include legitimate user records &#8212; for the samples where user details were provided.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"img aspect-set\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/a-hacker-group-is-selling-more-than-73-million-user-records-on-the-dark-web\/\" class=\"lazy\" alt=\"ShinyHunters-sample\" data-original=\"https:\/\/zdnet4.cbsistatic.com\/hub\/i\/2020\/05\/09\/5b4a1644-ed6a-4ff4-af60-7f5aabea3db9\/shinyhunters-sample.png\"><\/span><noscript><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"img aspect-set\"><img however, sources in the threat intel community such as <a href=\"https:\/\/cybleinc.com\/2020\/05\/09\/shiny-hunters-leaked-new-private-bases-minted-styleshare-chatbooks-bhinneka-and-others\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">Cyble<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nightlion.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">Nightlion Security<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/underthebreach.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">Under the Breach<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerofox.com\/blog\/shinyhunters-breach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-component=\"externalLink\">ZeroFOX<\/a> believe ShinyHunters is a legitimate threat actor.<\/p>\n<section class=\"sharethrough-top\" data-component=\"medusaContentRecommendation\" data-medusa-content-recommendation-options=\"{&quot;promo&quot;:&quot;promo_zd_recommendation_sharethrough_top_in_article_desktop&quot;,&quot;spot&quot;:&quot;dfp-in-article&quot;}\">\n<\/section>\n<p>Some believe the ShinyHunters group has ties to Gnosticplayers, a hacker group that was active last year, and who sold <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/australian-tech-unicorn-canva-suffers-security-breach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">more than one billion user credentials<\/a> on dark web marketplaces, as it operates on a nearly identical pattern.<\/p>\n<p>ZDNet has also been gradually contacting victim organizations all week, as the hacker has been putting their databases online for sale.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, only Chatbooks has returned our email, with the company <a href=\"https:\/\/chatbooks.com\/security-breach\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer
